Clogged gutters can cause more issues than many might think! Debris can cause water to overflow both the front and the back (defeating the point of gutters altogether!). Water leaking behind can cause fascia, windows, and siding to potentially rot. It can also cause dirty water to overflow the front of the gutter causing “tiger-striping”, which can be an eyesore to many homeowners. Heavy debris can actually cause thinner gauge aluminum gutters to sag or crack under the pressure. As time goes on, if the debris is not cleared out, plants often start to sprout, and animals make nests.
